September 22nd, 2012. My son's mother recently told me that I should start contributing to my blog again. The comment, seemingly from out of nowhere, actually sparked an interest in me when she suggested it. It made me think, why I haven't posted to this blog in a long time, and the answer was very simple. I didn't feel like doing it! Of course, like anything else, there is also a more complex answer, the simple truth of it is, well, the simple truth! Part of it could be the fact that I've been in somewhat of a rut, another part that I didn't have the clarity of mind to contribute to this blog, which is mainly about embracing and promoting consciousness. Anyway, I wanted to do something fun, so here it is :) Ive always been one to analyze things, philosophize, and try to get to a core understanding about things. I believe the closer we are to the core of an understanding of a concept, or a situation, or any 'thing', the better we can relate any two 'things' together, and form more authentic concepts. I hope this makes sense, lol. Either way, here are a few. Dharma. Dharma, as I have come to understand it, is "A Way". You can say it is an approach. As conscious beings, we interact with various worlds in which we co-exist. Some channels of interaction are via Words, Actions, and Thoughts. Dharma is when our interactions with this world are in alignment with the natural order of things. In other words, when we are following a dharmic path, we are in alignment with a natural order, flow of a greater picture, which lies both within, and outside of ourselves. Wisdom The depth of wisdom a being possess, is determined by the beings ability to perceive both objects, and the relationship between objects to an accurate degree. I believe the more 'wise' a being is, the more a being is capable of experiencing the 'Truth" or "reality' of situations, objects, etc. Intellect Whereas, wisdom could be said to be the more intuitive side of Understanding, I believe Intellect is more the rational side of understanding. Intellect isn't about seeing the bigger picture, or the "truth" or situations, or reality itself....Intellect is more so how accurately and efficient our thought process is. The higher intellect an individual has, the more capable he is of applying his Mind to apple itself. Power Power , to me, is the ability to do. How much power an individual has, is determined by what he can Do. Think of it like this. In this human, physical world we live in.....a person who has a drivers license, and has learned how to drive a car, has more 'power' than an individual who hasn't. Why? Because he can literally 'do' more, than the individual without. Although I believe many people think of power in terms of a persons STATUS, or the influence he holds over others....that is in fact just a very , VERY small aspect of power. Power itself is the ability to do. To use your will, your intellect, and your energy to Do. Compassion I think compassion is based on an understanding. The understanding is that "I wouldn't want to do this....because this would hurt this person. If this happened to me, I wouldnt be happy. How then shall I apply this situation to another, and interfere with their happiness?" Compassion is an internal understanding that deep down, we want to be loved, and we want to happy......and deep, deep down, it would rob US of our OWN happiness and self-love, if we were to interfere with another individuals love and happiness" Compassion is when you are actually open to life around you, instead of closed off. Since you are open to life around you, and you know deep down you want Love and Joy, then your Love and Joy is connected to the Love and Joy of others beings. Therefore, in order for you to truly experience Love and Joy, you desire inside to be in alignment, and to promote the love and joy of other living beings. Anyway, these are just a few thoughts I decided to put on here. Not exactly sure why, something just moved me to come on here, and write this, just now. I often do reflect on 'things', and I enjoy writing about 'things. Getting to the heart of 'things' , sitting with them, not just analyzing 'things', such as the concepts of Dharma, or Power, but to truly sit with these concepts, and experience them. I urge others to try and do the same!
